Who we are

GridAerial provides drone-based infrastructure data across Sub-Saharan Africa. This notice explains how we handle personal information submitted through our pilot and partner application forms. Questions or requests: drones@gridaerial.com.

What we collect

Contact details (name, email, phone, contact preference), location (country, province or city), certification status, licence or RPC documents, flight hours, equipment, specialisations, availability, your CV if provided, and how you heard about us.

Why we collect it

To assess your application, verify your credentials, and match you to missions that fit your location and skills. We do not sell your information or use it for unrelated marketing.

Your documents

Licence, certificate and CV uploads are used only to verify your credentials. They are stored privately and are accessible only to authorised GridAerial staff. They are never shared with clients.

Who sees your information

Authorised GridAerial staff reviewing applications. When you are matched to a mission, we may share your name, relevant experience and equipment with the client for that mission. We use trusted service providers to host our forms, store data and send emails. These providers may store data outside your country, with safeguards in place.

How long we keep it

While your profile is active. If we have had no contact with you for 24 months, we delete your information. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your information, or withdraw your consent, by emailing drones@gridaerial.com. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority in your country, such as the Information Regulator in South Africa or the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya.

Legal basis

We process your information with your consent, given when you submit an application, in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and the data protection laws of the countries where we operate.

Changes

We may update this notice. The effective date above shows when it last changed.
